Which language level do you need: A2, B1, or B2?

Under the old law (Wi2013), A2 is the standard level. Under the Wet inburgering 2021, B1 is the target level, but your municipality can set a different route and level in your PIP. The Staatsexamen NT2 has Programma I (B1) and Programma II (B2).

Under the Wet inburgering 2013, A2 was the standard language level for the civic integration exam.
B1: the target level under Wi2021
Under the Wet inburgering 2021, B1 is the target level, especially within the B1-route. Your municipality sets out in your PIP which learning route and level is achievable for you.

B2 and the Staatsexamen NT2
The Staatsexamen NT2 (a different exam from the civic integration exam) has Programma I (level B1) and Programma II (level B2). You arrange this via Mijn DUO, not via Mijn Inburgering.
